MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - Ivanovo Oblast of Russia has become one of the largest importers of dairy products via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

Ivanovo Oblast has entered the top ten Russian regions in terms of dairy imports through BUCE. In January-September 2025, companies from this region purchased nearly 1,500 tonnes of Belarusian dairy products on the exchange, totaling $6.5 million. Butter was in the highest demand, accounting for 73% of the total value and 48% of the volume of all dairy purchases. The remaining share consisted of skimmed and whole milk powder, dried whey, and cottage cheese. These figures were presented by a BUCE representative during a meeting with a business delegation from Ivanovo Oblast at the Moscow House in Minsk. The event was organized by the Russian Trade Mission in Belarus.

In addition to dairy products, Ivanovo Oblast’s traders also purchased meat products on the exchange this year, mainly rendered fats. Furthermore, in 2025, the first sales of industrial goods produced in the region took place through BUCE. The first transaction involved a modular container for storing gamma flaw detectors. Industrial goods are expected to become a key driver of growth in exchange trade between Belarus and Ivanovo Oblast. In particular, strong demand in Belarus is anticipated for petrochemical products, including polymer films, packaging materials, and containers, and for textile raw materials. These products have been regularly purchased by Belarusian light industry companies on the BUCE platform since 2024.

As of 9 October 2025, BUCE accredited 27 business entities from Ivanovo Oblast, including four since the beginning of the year.
