MOSCOW, 14 May (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Yuri Seliverstov is on a working visit to Russia’s Samara Oblast on 14-15 May, the press service of the diplomatic mission told BelTA.

The visit began in Tolyatti, where the ambassador and a delegation of Belarusian auto component manufacturers, including heads of BATE, Belcard, Belshina, and the Rudensk lighting plant, toured the AvtoVAZ plant.

“During talks with Vice President for External Relations and Shareholder Relations Sergei Gromak and Vice President for Purchasing Mikhail Sosnin, the parties held a substantive discussion on the current passenger car markets in Belarus and Russia. They also addressed import substitution, technological sovereignty, supply chains, state support mechanisms, and Belarus-Russia Union State industrial policy. Particular attention was paid to expanding auto component supplies from Belarusian companies already partnering with AvtoVAZ, as well as attracting new partners. The meeting closely reviewed supplier requirements and the demand for specific assemblies and components. Ambassador Yuri Seliverstov invited the AvtoVAZ delegation to examine the manufacturing potential of Belarusian enterprises directly on-site,” the press service said.

The ambassador also visited the Special Economic Zone Tolyatti, where he discussed import substitution and the features of preferential regimes in Belarus and Russia with its leadership.
