MOSCOW, 2 April (BelTA) – Russia Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev sent a message of greetings to his Belarusian counterpart Andrei Kobyakov on the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia. The message is posted on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation, BelTA has learned.

“Our countries have special time-tested brotherly relations and partnership ties. Our common duty is to preserve and multiply what we have achieved,” the message of greetings reads.

Dmitry Medvedev noted that Belarus and Russia have achieved a high level of integration within the Union State. The countries conduct big economic, infrastructure, industrial and humanitarian projects. Belarusian and Russian businessmen and public associations maintain an active dialogue.

“In the present-day conditions, I believe it is important to work together to develop a positive agenda for the cooperation between Belarus and Russia, work out constructive and effective solutions to the issues we are faced with, including within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. This will enable us to ensure continuous development of mutually beneficial practical cooperation in different areas, and will contribute to the wellbeing of the citizens of the Union State,” Dmitry Medvedev emphasized.
