Plans to increase export of utility vehicles to Russia’s Primorsky Krai

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – There are plans to increase the export of utility vehicles to Primorsky Krai of Russia, First Vice Governor of Primorsky Krai Vasily Usoltsev said during a meeting with the Belarusian delegation, BelTA has learned from the press service of the region’s administration.

According to Alexander Bobtsov, head of the Belarusian embassy's office in Khabarovsk, the trade with Primorsky Krai made up around $13.5 million and can be much bigger. “We are interested in increasing the trade and we have all the possibilities for that. The current legal framework allows us to successfully develop mutually beneficial partnership,” Alexander Bobtsov said.

Alexander Bobtsov also noted that if the Amkodor holding company increases the exports of utility vehicles to Primorsky Krai, this will give a strong impetus to the bilateral trade. “We produce hi-tech machinery of different types for housing and utilities, forestry, agriculture and road construction sectors,” Amkodor’s General Director Valery Ivankovich said. Our products are up to world standards. Today we are selling a certain amount of machinery to Primorsky Krai, but we would like to boost the exports. We are ready to find creative solutions to any possible problems.”

According to Primorsky Krai First Vice Governor Vasily Usoltsev, there are good prospects for boosting mutually beneficial cooperation. “We are ready to assist in promoting the company’s products in our region and increasing the trade between Primorsky Krai and Belarus at large,” Vasily Usoltsev underlined.

In 1998 Belarus and Russia’s Primorsky Krai signed an agreement on cooperation in trade, economic, social and cultural areas. Belarus’ share in the region’s foreign trade amounts to almost 60%. Primorsky Krai major exports to Belarus include fish, seafood, footwear, inorganic chemistry and other products. Belarus’ major exports to Primorsky Krai are dairy and other food products, soap, detergents, plastics, timber products, aluminum, vehicles, equipment, machinery and its components and other production.
