ISLAMABAD, 27 May (BelTA) – Pakistan is ready for cooperation with Belarus in geologic exploration, Director General of the Research and Development Center for geology Andrei Kovkhuto told media on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

“Specialists of Pakistan are ready to develop cooperation with Belarusian counterparts. In turn, Belarusian specialists have rich experience in the development of oilfields, solid minerals, salt, underground water. These areas are also of interest to our Pakistani counterparts,” Andrei Kovkhuto said. In his words, Pakistan is rich in various mineral resources: oil, gas, ferrous and non-ferrous metal ores, gems and gold.

“The parties are sharing information. We have presented the opportunities of Belarusian geologists. Pakistani counterparts demonstrate the riches of their country. Of course, we still need to study the geological structure of Pakistan, cooperation prospects,” Andrei Kovkhuto said. There is a certain interest from Pakistani companies, including in respect to the search for hydrocarbons, oil and gas.

Andrei Kovkhuto also said that the parties reached an agreement to sign a framework agreement on cooperation in mineral exploration.
