MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – SZAO BelGee made over 8,600 cars in H1 2020, representatives of the company told BelTA.

According to the source, the company’s industrial output increased by 11.3% in comparison with H1 2019 to Br262.3 million. BelGee made 8,617 cars.

In H1 2020 the company sold 8,644 cars, including 4,470 cars on the Belarusian market. Export growth rate went up and approached 101% in U.S. dollar terms.

The company previously presented the new crossover Geely Coolray and the electric car Geely Geometry A. The electric car boasts adaptive cruise control, an automatic parking system, a lane keeping assist feature, and a traffic sign recognition technology. The design relies on modern materials and structural solutions.

In early April the company shipped Geely Atlas with the multimedia system Yandex.Auto to showrooms. It is a convenient and ergonomic onboard computer with features motorists will like. The user interface allows the driver to work with several services at the same time. For instance, the driver can follow the navigator’s instructions and switch music tracks. The software can also warn about snow or strong winds while the navigator can inform the driver about road repairs or speed limits. The onboard computer can be controlled by hand or by voice.

BelGee representatives stressed that the company kept working even in the complicated conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. All the orders in line with signed contracts were delivered without restrictions.

The company intends to make 20,000 cars in 2020 and export more cars to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Ukraine, and Lithuania.

The BelGee car factory was officially opened on 17 November 2017. The new enterprise is located between Borisov and Zhodino and occupies 118ha. Belarus-made Geely cars are certified for compliance with technical regulations of the Customs Union and have been tested using EuroNCAP methods (frontal impact, side impact, and other kinds).
