Over 50 companies to take part in forestry industry expo in Minsk on 20-23 May

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The 16th international forestry industry expo Lesdrevtekh 2015 will take place in the Belarusian national expo center BelExpo on 20-23 May, the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry told BelTA.

Over 50 organizations and companies specializing in growing and harvesting trees, collecting and processing wood waste, production and delivery of equipment and vehicles used by forestry industry enterprises will take part in the expo.

Official delegations led by top administrators of Russian government agencies that take care of the forestry industry are expected to visit the expo as well as representatives of forestry research institutes and all kinds of forestry industry companies from Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and other countries.

An international conference on investments and innovations for the Belarusian forestry industry will take place as part of the expo’s business program at 10:00-14:00 on 21 May. The agenda includes matters of policy and strategy for developing the forestry industry, transboundary cooperation in the World Trade Organization, the Customs Union, and the Eurasian Economic Union. Participants of the conference are also expected to discuss modern technologies for forest harvesting and processing, wood waste processing, and bioenergy production. Representatives of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry and the National Agency of Investment and Privatization are expected to deliver reports on investment appeal. Foreign specialists will share the experience of regional cooperation and ways to raise investments for the forestry industry. Contests will be held to name the best machinery operators and fellers employed in the forestry industry.

The expo will feature technologies and equipment designed to plant trees, equipment and instruments for harvesting trees, tree harvesters and transporters, road construction machines, special instruments, special wear and gear used by forestry industry workers, equipment for wood granulation, production of fuel bricks, pellets, boilers, gas generators, heat generators, heating systems, energy systems, machine tools and instruments for initial and advanced wood processing, drying equipment.

A fair will be arranged to sell forestry products. The exhibitors will use their booths to demonstrate wooden homes, bath houses, all kinds of arbors, kitchen furniture and wooden fences. Decorative planting material and a wide choice of consumer goods made of wood will be available.
