Over 40 Mogilev Oblast companies in negotiations with businessmen from China’s Jiangsu Province

MOGILEV, 20 July (BelTA) – Representatives of over 40 companies and organizations from Mogilev Oblast turned up for negotiations with businessmen from China’s Jiangsu Province. The Belarusian-Chinese business forum took place in the Mogilev branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 20 July, BelTA has learned.

Eight most successful companies from China’s Jiangsu Province took part in the forum. The number included the Chinese travel agency Tuniu, Jiangsu Overseas Group Corporation, Jiangsu Qianmi Network Technology Company, the alternative energy company Golden Concord, and other ones. About 20 guests representing Jiangsu Province government agencies also took part in the forum.

Opening the forum, Mogilev Oblast Vice Governor Dmitry Kharitonchik noted that the scale and structure of relations between Mogilev Oblast and Jiangsu Province had reached a new level. It is based on warm and friendly relations between the heads of state, which in turn rely on trust and understanding of the strong sides of the two countries. Business meetings play an important role in these relations by allowing building new, more robust and effective ties between concrete companies and organizations.

In 2016 Mogilev Oblast’s merchandise export to China was doubled in comparison with 2015, said Dmitry Kharitonchik. Local companies have acquired certain experience in dealing with logistics and adapting their products to requirements of Chinese customers. At the same time China has good knowledge of target markets, modern technologies for processing and making products with a high added value. Dmitry Kharitonchik said he was confident that the businessmen taking part in the forum would find a lot of contact points and will advance cooperation in the future, including by establishing joint ventures.

In turn, Jiangsu Province Vice Governor Ma Qiulin said that during the meeting with Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky earlier that day new avenues of cooperation had been sketched out — humanitarian affairs and logistics — in addition to conventional partnership avenues — trade and culture. “Representatives of the companies and organizations, who came to participate in the forum today, have to accomplish an important task. They have to advance relations with Belarusian companies,” stressed Ma Qiulin. “We know that Mogilev Oblast is one of the most advanced regions of the country and boasts well-developed heavy, light, and food industries. Jiangsu Province also plays one of the key roles in the Chinese economy and it unites us. I hope our businessmen will be able to find new potential partners for them.”
