MINSK, 3 June (BelTA) - Orsha Linen Mill supplies products to more than 40 countries worldwide, Dmitry Sergomassov, Deputy Director for Commercial Affairs at Orsha Linen Mill, told a press briefing on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

Orsha Linen Mill is an enterprise with nearly a century of history, celebrating its 96th anniversary this year. It employs 3,500 people. “We export products to more than 40 countries worldwide, including Japan, Nepal, and South Africa, and these are systematic, regular shipments. Our products are sent to Italy and Türkiye for further finishing and dyeing, after which they return to Belarus and other CIS countries. Consumers often mistake it for Italian or Turkish linen, even though it is Belarusian linen. Belarus ranks among the world’s top 10 linen exporters, and the Orsha Linen Mill exports exceeded $100 million in 2025, which confirms the high demand for our products,” said Dmitry Sergomassov.

The enterprise adheres to the principle of “keeping the best for the domestic market”, as it is Belarusian citizens who should be the first to evaluate the mill’s work, he said. Its own retail network comprises about 70 stores in Belarus and six in Russia, with plans to expand further. “We are also actively developing sales on online marketplaces. We have radically updated the design and style of our ready-to-wear collections. Our summer lines - shirts, dresses, shorts - are equal in quality and aesthetics to, and often surpass, well-known global brands,” the deputy director added.

The potential of Belarusian linen in Belarus and the CIS countries has yet to be fully realized, and the enterprise’s task is to unlock it, noted Nadezhda Lazarevich, Chairperson of the Belarusian state concern for production and sale of light industry goods Bellegprom. In addition to finished products, the mill is developing the production of unique specialty fabrics and implementing new technologies. According to her, the practice of well-known brands manufacturing their garments from Belarusian fabrics at third-party facilities is entirely justified: the enterprise’s primary goal is to ensure stable profitability and strong financial results. something Orsha Linen Mill is successfully achieving.
