Number of self-employed businessmen in Belarus expected to increase

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian Economy Ministry expects the number of self-employed businessmen to increase after the package of documents on encouraging the development of the private sector is passed. Piotr Arushanyants, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department of the Belarusian Economy Ministry, made the statement on the air of the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA has learned.

Piotr Arushanyants said that the enterprising spirit of the people, their desire to work hard will be important after the package of documents on encouraging the development of the private sector is passed. “Efficient incentives are already available. For instance, the Belarusian fund for the financial support of entrepreneurs now offers loans with the interest rate of 7% per annum. It is the lowest interest rate on the market,” noted the official.

The package of documents on encouraging the development of the private sector will retain social guarantees for employees of private companies. “We see unity in labor collectives. People understand that they work for a common goal,” said Viktor Margelov, Co-chairman of the union of legal persons Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurship.
