MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Nigeria is interested in setting up a plant to assemble Belarusian tractors, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Steve Davies Ugbah told the media on 27 March ahead of the business seminar Africa. Export Prospects organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BelTA informs.
“In early April I plan to visit Belarus with a delegation of Nigerian businessmen to establish contacts with local businessmen. We are set to hold talks with the Minsk Tractor Works. We hope that very soon we will be able to open a joint company to produce tractors,” noted Steve Davies Ugbah.
In his words, the cooperation between Belarus and Nigeria is still slow, but expressed the hope for the expansion of cooperation in every area.
“The event [business seminar] is a good opportunity to demonstrate Nigeria’s potential to Belarus and learn what Belarus can offer Nigeria, establish contacts and exchange information,” the ambassador said.
The business seminar Africa. Export Prospects is held by the Business Education Center of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Participants of the seminar will have a chance to get familiar with the government’s export promotion policy, discuss export promotion mechanisms with representatives of the diplomatic and consular establishments of the African countries in Belarus and also representatives of the Belarusian companies that export products to Africa.
