Nicaragua interested in Belarus’ experience in creating national payment system

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Nicaragua has expressed interest in Belarus’ experience in developing a national payment system, the National Bank of Belarus told BelTA.

Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Roman Golovchenko held talks with a Nicaraguan delegation led by Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo, advisor for investments, trade, and international cooperation to the Nicaragua president, in Minsk on 26 June.

Roman Golovchenko highlighted the strong friendly relations between the two countries in political, trade and economic areas. Notably, in May 2025, the 4th session of the Belarus-Nicaragua joint commission on trade and economic cooperation was successfully held in Managua.

During the talks, the parties discussed promising areas to expand Belarus-Nicaragua economic cooperation, including IT, education, joint ventures, and more.

The Nicaraguan side expressed particular interest in Belarus’ experience in creating a national payment system and in software products developed by Belarusian companies.
