MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Yuri Gorlov held negotiations with Ghana's Food and Agriculture Minister Eric Opoku, who visited the international specialized exhibition Belagro 2025. Yuri Gorlov emphasized Belarus’ readiness to expand meat exports to Ghana, the press service of Belarus’ Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.

The delegation from Ghana's Food and Agriculture Ministry also included Chief Technical Advisor Kwasi Etu Bonde and Director of Agricultural Engineering Services  Patrick Aboagye.

"We saw a vast number of new technologies and management processes at Belagro 2025 that we can successfully implement at home. We want to use your experience and expertise as a driver of progress in our country, adopting your best practices in food processing and production mechanization. The world has much to learn from Belarus! You are a developed country that has achieved remarkable results," Eric Opoku stated, praising the exhibition's organization and the advancement of Belarus' agro-industrial sector.

During their visit, Ghanaian representatives toured a Belarusian agricultural enterprise and explored the full production cycle. "We saw the entire production process, which is not only perfectly planned but also provides a significant number of jobs. We will implement this experience in our country," Eric Opoku said.

"We are currently exporting meat by-products, beef, and sugar to Ghana and importing cocoa and fruit. We are ready to increase meat exports and begin supplying dairy products," Yuri Gorlov stated, expressing the desire to deepen cooperation.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed ways to accelerate work on a draft interagency memorandum of understanding in agriculture, which will serve as the foundation for long-term partnership. Belarus also expressed willingness to assist Ghana in training personnel across key agricultural sectors. "This visit marks an important step in strengthening the bilateral dialogue and opens new opportunities for practical cooperation between Belarus and Ghana in the agro-industrial sector," the Belarusian minister summarized.
