Makei discusses Belarusian equipment exports to India

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – During his visit to India Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei held talks with representatives of a number of big companies interested in the development of cooperation with Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Taking into account India’s large-scale plans to develop the mining industry, agriculture and other areas, the main focus in the talks was made on boosting the deliveries of Belarusian dump trucks, agricultural and automobile vehicles to India. Besides, the parties discussed the opening of joint plants to produce vehicle components and food products.

The Indian pharmaceutical company was invited to expand its presence in Belarus in order to localize the production of medications imported from India.

Vladimir Makei offered assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in intensifying the work between Belarusian producers and Indian businessmen in order to reach the signing of a number of commercial contracts in the near future.

On 14-15 April Vladimir Makei paid an official visit to India. The Belarusian delegation comprised the heads of OAO BelAZ, Minsk Tractor Works and the Belarusian Potash Company.
