KRASNOPOLYE DISTRICT, 14 April (BelTA) - During a visit to the Paluzh fish farm in Krasnopolye District, Mogilev Oblast, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed that the experience of such facilities be replicated, BelTA has learned.
“We need to fill the market with fish. Especially since we have the means to do so,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko. “Make a note: [Vice Premier Yuri] Shuleiko and [Mogilev Oblast Governor Anatoly] Isachenko are to build ten such facilities. We need to replicate this model further.”
At the facility, the head of state observed the complete technological cycle of rainbow trout farming, from eggs and fingerlings right through to adult fish destined for sale and processing.
The president was informed that the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation has developed a domestically produced fish feed for industrial fish farming with the necessary characteristics. It remains on the water surface for a long time and is fully consumed by the fish.
On site, the head of state was shown the full production cycle of the fish farming enterprise, including the operation of special water treatment and purification equipment, the feeding process, sorting the fish by weight and size, cleaning them, and pre-sale preparation.
Samples of finished products were also displayed, including lightly smoked and salted rainbow trout fillets, as well as red salmon roe. The president tasted some of them.
