MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – The future performance of agricultural workers must be evaluated against the results of 2025, as it was the most successful year despite challenging weather conditions, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he presented awards to the country’s leading agricultural workers on 11 November, BelTA has learned.
The head of state noted that it is customary to evaluate the work of the current year based on the indicators of the previous one. Henceforth, he proposed moving away from this practice in agriculture and assessing the results of any given year using the level of 2025 as a benchmark.
“In my life, I cannot recall such a complex and tense period as this year has been for agriculture and the processing industry. It was a very difficult year. And what? This year, for all my demanding nature and nitpicking (that farmer's eye for detail), it’s not just my opinion, we all see that your performance has been far superior to previous years. Much better, despite everything that was happening around us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“This is a task for our agricultural sector leaders and our economists. The indicators of this year must become the criterion for evaluating future performance. It will be important for me that you achieve the level of this year's indicators. Because it was the highest in these metrics,” the president instructed. “Most importantly, we achieved these indicators not in theory, but in practice. So why shouldn’t we compare ourselves to this year? Therefore, since we have reached this peak level together with you, we will henceforth compare and evaluate ourselves, and above all our agriculture, against the level of this year.”
