BISHKEK, 1 September (BelTA) - Laos invites Belarus to cooperate in the mining sector, including gold extraction, Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith said during talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Bishkek on 1 September, BelTA has learned.
“We can work together in the field of mining, including gold,” Thongloun Sisoulith said. “We could jointly build a gold processing plant. We already have one such facility, but we can build another. We would very much like to cooperate with you in this area. You have very rich experience.”
The president of Laos invited Belarusian representatives to visit his country to explore other promising areas of joint work. “We are waiting for investment from Belarus. We have many resources, and we are ready to share the profits,” he said.
Thongloun Sisoulith also thanked the Belarusian leader for organizing holidays for children from Laos at the Zubrenok educational and health center. Aleksandr Lukashenko assured that Belarus remains ready to continue hosting Lao children for health and recreation programs.
