Krutoi: Key indicators of Belarus' five-year development program finalized

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) - The Social and Economic Development Program of Belarus for 2026-2030 has been agreed upon in terms of its key macroeconomic and financial indicators, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi told the media following a meeting with the head of state, BelTA has learned.

The president was effectively presented with two draft versions of the program. One was developed by the Council of Ministers and the other by a working group headed by the chairman of the National Bank.

“It was noted at the meeting that the two documents are very similar. After all, the government incorporated many of the working group's proposals into its version of the document. One of the fundamental, basic achievements of today's meeting is that there are no disagreements among anyone regarding the targets and metrics. This applies to gross domestic product, investments, export, growth in real wages, and control over prices and inflation. Regarding the key macroeconomic and financial indicators, the program can be considered balanced and agreed upon,” Dmitry Krutoi said.

According to him, the discussion regarding the priorities will continue for some time, but not for long. This is because a finalized and agreed-upon text of the document must be submitted to the president ahead of a meeting of the Presidium of the Belarusian People's Congress.

“The president once again commented on the main points of his election program. This pertains to rental housing, tourism, and Belarus's defense capability,” Dmitry Krutoi stated.

He confirmed that the president's requirement to develop a realistic yet ambitious development scenario for the upcoming year also applies to the overall five-year program.

“The growth rate of our economy is projected at the level of the global average growth,” Dmitry Krutoi said.
