MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Ghana President John Dramani Mahama visited the life safety education center of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. The visiting dignitary was accompanied by Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky, representatives of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry told BelTA.
As part of his official visit to Belarus John Dramani Mahama visited the premises of the safety center, studied the Belarusian experience of forming a culture of life safety among the population and the experience of training specialists in the field of emergency prevention and response at the University of Civil Protection of the Emergencies Ministry.
Samples of Belarus-made firefighting and rescue machines and vehicles, equipment, and gear were presented before the Ghana delegation. Belarusian rescue workers demonstrated their reliability and functionality during practical exercises where they practiced responding to a chemical accident, a road traffic accident, working at heights, and extinguishing a fire.
“A very impressive center. I thank the management and the staff for conducting an interesting tour. We hope a similar center will appear in Ghana,” John Dramani Mahama shared his impressions.
