Foreign ambassadors get familiar with potential of China-Belarus industrial park

Foreign ambassadors get familiar with potential of China-Belarus industrial park

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Heads of the foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Minsk visited the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 18 April to get familiar with its economic potential, BelTA has learned.

The event was organized upon the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said the key purpose of the event was to demonstrate the great opportunities for investment the industrial park offers. “Today our Chinese friends don’t call the park Chinese-Belarusian but international. About ten countries are represented here now. We hope the number of resident countries will grow considerably this year,” Vladimir Makei noted. He said he believes that after today’s visit the foreign diplomats would more actively invite foreign companies to participate in the industrial park project because excellent conditions for investors and resident companies have been enabled here.

“Recognizing the tough competition for investors on the international market, Belarus has created the most pleasant investment climate there is for residents of the industrial park. The climate is guaranteed both by the national legislation and by special international agreements and commitments,” Vladimir Makei stressed.

At present the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone is home to about 50 companies from Belarus, China, Russia, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, the USA, Israel, and Canada.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming noted that the high level of cooperation and good partnership relations between Belarus and China, including at the level of the leaders of these countries, guarantee the successful development of the park.

During the tour of the park the diplomats visited infrastructure installations, manufacturing and administrative buildings in the park. They were also made familiar with the plan to develop the park as an international ecocity and a satellite town of Minsk.
