FM: Belarus, Hungary maintain high-level trade, economic cooperation

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Hungary have maintained a very high level of trade and economic cooperation, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said during at a session of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Minsk on 10 September, BelTA has learned.

“Despite sanctions-related challenges and increasingly complex borders between our countries, because some cannot separate their personal political ambitions from the interests of the region or entire groups of countries, despite all difficulties, we manage to maintain a very high and decent level of trade and economic cooperation,” Maksim Ryzhenkov pointed out.

According to him, Belarus and Hungary are able to resolve emerging issues in a friendly manner. “Assessing our work, I’d like to note that the 2024-2025 program has been almost fully implemented. The signing of a new one is next in line,” he added. Speaking about promising areas of cooperation, the minister highlighted such sectors as energy, agriculture, manufacturing industry, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

The commission session is taking place in Minsk and chaired by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. The event is expected to become an important milestone in building up the bilateral relations and in realizing joint projects in economic affairs, trade, and humanitarian affairs.
