Dodon: Belarus and Moldova can increase bilateral trade to $400m

CHISINAU, 23 December (BelTA) - Belarus and Moldova can increase the bilateral trade to $400 million. Chisinau supports the idea of opening trading houses in the two capital cities, Moldova President-elect Igor Dodon said in a meeting with a Belarusian delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy on 23 December. The Belarusian delegation attended the Moldova President inauguration ceremony, BelTA has learned.

The press service of the Moldova President informed that the parties discussed the key issues of mutual interest in the social and economic area, in the areas of investment, entrepreneurship, including in the field of agricultural engineering, export of wine material, production of medicines, fertilizers, etc.

“We support the idea of opening trading houses in the two capital cities. I stressed that Belarus managed to preserve all the best things from the USSR in social and economic terms and also built on this legacy in the new, highly complex economic realities. The Republic of Belarus under President Alexander Lukashenko is an example for us in this respect,” Igor Dodon said.

Mikhail Rusy conveyed the greetings to Igor Dodon from Alexander Lukashenko and an invitation to visit the Belarusian capital. “I gladly accepted the invitation. The date of the visit will be determined shortly,” Igor Dodon said.
