Construction in China-Belarus Industrial Park proceeds on schedule

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Construction of facilities in the China-Belarus Industrial Park proceeds exactly on schedule, BelTA learned from Li Haixin, Director General of the private joint-stock company (SZAO) Industrial Park Development Company, during the Belarusian-Chinese trade and economic cooperation forum on 18 November.

Li Haixin said: “The construction of facilities in the park proceeds exactly on schedule. We systematically and confidently carry out all the necessary operations. The bulk of the work to build engineering infrastructure in the starting zone of the first startup complex in the China-Belarus Industrial Park has to be done by the end of 2015.” In his words, the construction of the infrastructure to allow the park’s resident companies to manufacture products will be completed by the end of October 2016.

Li Haixin said that the China-Belarus Industrial Park is the largest cooperation project between the two countries. “Since its launch the project has enjoyed close attention and support of the governments of both countries. It is becoming a new corridor for developing the production sector in Europe and a new waymark of the Silk Road Economic Belt,” stressed the Director General.

Li Haixin thanked the Belarus government for enabling preferential conditions and giving preferences to the park. All the resident companies will enjoy strong state support thanks to that. “It is very important for us. It is Belarusian-Chinese cooperation at the top level that helps us implement the joint project while preferential taxation creates a favorable investment climate,” stated Li Haixin.

The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone is a territorial unit with a special legal regime meant to enable comfortable conditions for doing business. The ceremony to place the first stone in the park took place on 19 June 2014. The park’s concept provides for creating a convenient infrastructure for developing business, granting a considerable tax respite to participants of the project for a rather lengthy period of time, and providing a set of services to residents of the park. The priority business avenues of the park include the development of fine chemistry, biomedicine, electronics industry, and mechanical engineering.

The park is located in Smolevichi District, Minsk Oblast 25km away from Minsk in the immediate proximity to an international airport, the railway network, and the transnational motorway Berlin-Moscow. There are plans to set up manufacturing and residential zones in the park, office premises, trade and entertainment ones, a financial center and an R&D center.
