SHANGHAI, 6 November (BelTA) - An increasing number of high-quality and unique goods from Belarus are confidently conquering the Chinese market, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan told BelTA while commenting on Belarus’ participation in China International Import Expo (CIIE 2015) in Shanghai.
"The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is running in Shanghai. Belarus is a longstanding participant of CIIE and consistently sends high-level delegations, presents a national exhibition, and takes part in various events," the diplomat stressed. "The expo serves as a crucial platform for enhancing the visibility of Belarusian products in the Chinese market.”
According to the diplomat, it is precisely thanks to this platform that a growing number of high-quality, unique and traditional export commodities from Belarus are gradually establishing themselves in the Chinese market.
“China International Import Expo represents a significant step within the framework of the initiative to open Chinese domestic market to the world, a concrete action to promote an open global economy, and advance universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization,” Ambassador Zhang Wenchuan noted.
The diplomat also highlighted: "Since 2018, leveraging the advantages of the huge scale of the Chinese market, the import expo has consistently fulfilled its four major platform roles of international procurement, investment promotion, cultural exchanges and open cooperation. The CIIE has become a showcase of new development paradigm, a platform for high-standard opening-up, and a vehicle of public good for the whole world.”
“While some corners of the world speak of decoupling and building walls, China is building bridges. The import expo is China's clear signal to the world: we believe in openness and cooperation, not in isolation and decoupling,” the diplomat stated.
He emphasized that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Belarus all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership has been developing at a high level, with practical cooperation steadily advancing.
"In January-September 2025, the trade between China and Belarus reached $6.19 billion according to Chinese statistics, representing a 2.3% increase year-on-year. We are ready to work with the Belarusian side to facilitate the entry of more high-quality and unique Belarusian products into the Chinese market, continuously expand new areas and formats of cooperation, and comprehensively enhance the quality and level of trade and economic interaction,” the Chinese ambassador to Belarus assured.
The head of the diplomatic mission expressed confidence that “through joint efforts, the trade and economic cooperation between China and Belarus will yield even more abundant fruits for the greater benefit of our two countries and peoples.”
