BREST, 4 January (BelTA) – Enterprises in Brest produced import-substitution goods worth $36 million in 2025, Brest Mayor Sergei Lobodinsky told BelTA.
Companies in Brest manufacture a wide range of products to replace imported goods. In 2025, new projects were launched. For example, Brest enterprises mastered the production of fastening fittings and hardware, as well as components for gas stoves. One private company in the city developed technically complex equipment for the production of canned meat.
“At Brestmash, production of silicone hoses has reached its design capacity. The enterprise has several other well-developed projects: stainless steel hoses, stamped components for gas stoves. Work is also underway to assemble commercial vehicles. In September, a contract was signed with a partner company for the supply of 200 vehicle kits,” Sergei Lobodinsky said.
Small businesses are also involved in producing import-substitution goods. Nine of their projects were included in the 2025 plan. These projects focus on producing household chemicals, polyethylene film, plastic products, high-pressure hoses, agricultural machinery, stainless steel equipment, food industry equipment, polypropylene flat-thread products, and self-adhesive labels.
Industrial enterprises are modernizing and expanding their capacities. For example, AgroPishcheProm opened a new building where a full production cycle of meat-processing equipment was organized with state support measures for entrepreneurship. STiM completed technical modernization of a warehouse, converting it into a workshop for producing colored paint and colored cold plastics.
“There are projects for the future. Savushkin Produkt is considering organizing production of plastic cups. Vastega plans to build an administrative and warehouse complex and set up tin can production. Cortex Mebel is considering building a new facility. AgroPishcheProm plans another production building. Several other projects are also under development,” the Brest mayor summarized.
