MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) - The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash has offered St Petersburg its electric buses for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Belkommunmash Director General Vladimir Korol told media on 7 October, BelTA has learned.

“An agreement has been reached with St Petersburg on a trial operation of our electric buses. St Petersburg is interested in it, as the city is gearing up to host the FIFA World Cup,” Vladimir Korol said.

According to Vladimir Korol, the company plans to develop another novelty within the next six months. “It will be a modern electrobus, a hybrid with on-board accumulators,” he explained. Such vehicles will secure comfortable transportation of passengers and help improve environmental situation in cities. “The products we offer is a new solution developed taking into account the concepts on the world market of electric transport,” the director said.
