BelAZ to ramp up exports to Ukraine by 16%

KIEV, 10 April (BelTA) - BelAZ, the managing company of BelAZ holding company, plans to boost exports to Ukraine by 16%, Anatoly Trambitsky, head of the company’s commercial department for the CIS countries, told BelTA on the sidelines of the Made in Belarus expo.

“Last year, we sold more than $34 million worth of products to Ukraine, up 6% versus 2016. This year, we have orders for dump trucks with a payload capacity of 130 and 220 tonnes. We plan to supply $40 million worth of vehicles by the 2018 year-end, up 16% from 2017,” Anatoly Tambitsky clarified.

He stressed that BelAZ low-capacity trucks (30t, 45t, 50t) are in less demand in Ukraine for the time being. “I expect that we will find partners in this segment at the expo,” the BelAZ representative added.

Today there around 2,000 BelAZ vehicles operated in Ukraine (some 85% of all quarry machinery). “We have our own distribution network, a distributor, several dealers, and three centers providing the whole range of services. It is important not only to sell a vehicle but also to provide maintenance services,” Anatoly Tambitsky underlined.

Made in Belarus expo is taking place at the Kiev International Exhibition Center on 10-14 April. Taking part in the exhibition are more than 50 Belarusian companies that have displayed their latest products in mechanical engineering and petrochemistry, transport and logistics, agriculture and food, light industry and tourism.

The exhibition in Kiev also includes a business program with presentations of Belarusian enterprises. The key event of the business program was the conference "Ukraine-Belarus: prospects for cooperation". The event was attended by representatives of government bodies of the two countries, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the organizer of the Made in Belarus expo in Kiev. The operator is the exhibition company Belinterexpo. The event is held with the assistance of the Belarusian Embassy in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and government bodies and business associations of Belarus and Ukraine.
