BelAZ ships bulldozers to Morocco

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has shipped the first few bulldozers to Morocco where they will be used for phosphate mining, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.

The Belarusian company systematically and confidently expands the geography of deliveries to one of the promising international mining markets — Africa. In May 2015 wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 were shipped to the state enterprise OCP in Morocco. The company that has bought Belarusian machines extracts phosphates in other African countries, too.

On the whole, Morocco has considerable deposits of phosphates, copper, gold, and silver.

According to the press service, wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 are designed to mechanize earthworks and excavation in open pits at major construction sites. The bulldozers are powered by Cummins KTA19 engines with the output of 360kW, a 4+4 hydromechanical transmission with an electrohydraulic gear change actuator, a microprocessor-based system for control, diagnostics and protection. The bulldozers are fitted with the fast refueling system Wiggins, a heavy-duty air conditioner. The top speed of wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 is 25kmph.

Wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 are successfully used as part of mining operations in Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and non-CIS states, including Bulgaria, Venezuela, and India. Similar machines have been sold to South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The Zhodino-based automobile engineering company BelAZ was founded in September 1948. In 2010 BelAZ was reincorporated into a public joint stock company (OAO). In September 2012 BelAZ became the managing company of BelAZ Holding. BelAZ is the world’s top manufacturer of mine dump trucks with a large carrying capacity and an extremely large carrying capacity as well as other heavy transport equipment used by the mining industry and the civil engineering industry.

In 2014 BelAZ had a well-developed distribution network that comprised 58 entities, including the general distributor TD BelAZ, 29 dealerships, 26 service centers established by the company and the dealerships in Russia, the CIS and non-CIS states, and one assembly enterprise.
