BelAZ ships bulldozers to Morocco

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has shipped the first few bulldozers to Morocco where they will be used for phosphate mining, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.

The Belarusian company systematically and confidently expands the geography of deliveries to one of the promising international mining markets — Africa. In May 2015 wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 were shipped to the state enterprise OCP in Morocco. The company that has bought Belarusian machines extracts phosphates in other African countries, too.

On the whole, Morocco has considerable deposits of phosphates, copper, gold, and silver.

The bulldozers are powered by Cummins KTA19 engines with the output of 360kW, a 4+4 hydromechanical transmission with an electrohydraulic gear change actuator, a microprocessor-based system for control, diagnostics and protection. The bulldozers are fitted with the fast refueling system Wiggins, a heavy-duty air conditioner. The top speed of wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 is 25kmph.

Wheeled bulldozers BelAZ 78231 are successfully used as part of mining operations in Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and non-CIS states, including Bulgaria, Venezuela, and India. Similar machines have been sold to South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The Zhodino-based automobile engineering company BelAZ was founded in September 1948. In 2010 BelAZ was reincorporated into a public joint stock company (OAO).
