Belarusian manufacturers seek ways to bolster export to India

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – Belarusian manufacturers are mulling over the possibility to expand the delivery of goods to the Indian market, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.

After a working trip to India Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk instructed heads of large manufacturing enterprises to work out proposals concerning the promotion of cooperation with this country. “In particular, at the briefing the minister instructed the MAZ administration to work out proposals concerning the delivery of truck cranes with the capacity of 30 tonnes to the Indian market,” the press release of the press service reads.

According to the Industry Ministry, on 19-22 May the Belarusian delegation led by Vitaly Vovk paid a working visit to the Republic of India. The delegation included heads of OAO BelAZ, Belenergo, OAO MZOR, the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, representatives of other big Belarusian enterprises.

“Vitaly Vovk took part in the opening of the business forum which was held as part of the business matchmaking session of the Belarusian and Indian business circles to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation. After that the minister held a number of meetings with heads of Indian agencies,” the press release of the press service reads.

During the visit Vitaly Vovk held talks with heads of a number of large Indian companies interested in advancing cooperation with Belarus. The talks focused on raising the delivery of Belarusian products to India. The participants discussed the establishment of pharmaceutical, IT and other joint ventures.
