Belarusian Gomselmash supplies farm machines to Pakistan

GOMEL, 8 August (BelTA) - The Belarusian company Gomselmash has supplied the first batch of farm machines to Pakistan, BelTA learned from First Deputy Director of the company's Regional Sales Department Igor Korotkevich.

The first batch of trailed mowers was shipped in line with the contract that was one of the practical steps to implement the agreements reached between Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Minsk in August 2015.

Pakistan’s agribusiness is heavily dominated by small owner-operated farms with not more than one hectare of land, so trailed mowers are in demand there.

In the near future Gomselmash will focus on exporting this type of agricultural machines to Pakistan. However, the structure of export may change in a more distant future. “It is possible that our Pakistani partners will ask us to adjust our products to the weather conditions in their country. They may also ask us to build a completely new machine. In any case, we are very interested in this market. Pakistan is a big and populous country with an agriculture-based economy,” Igor Korotkevich explained.

This year, Gomselmash has also supplied first batches of machines to Hungary, Austria, Turkey, Thailand, Spain, and Bulgaria. At present, the company has partners in 27 countries, including 17 non-CIS states.

The industrial group Gomselmash was founded on the basis of the Gomselmash factory that was established in 1930. As a major manufacturer of agricultural machines in the CIS states and Europe, Gomselmash offers self-propelled and trailed forage harvesters and crushing mowing machines, grain harvesters, mounted mowers, potato and beet harvesters.
