Belarusian defense products on display in Kazakhstan on 2-5 June

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – State-of-the-art defense technologies and capabilities of the Belarusian defense industry will be demonstrated by 12 enterprises during the international expo KADEX 2016 in Kazakhstan, BelTA learned from Vladimir Lavrenyuk, a spokesman of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus.

Central Asia’s largest armaments expo is scheduled for 2-5 June. Representatives of 20 countries, including Germany, Italy, France, and Russia, intend to attend the expo. Expositions of three hundred companies will occupy a total of 45,000m2 in six pavilions.

Belarusian defense products will occupy a total of 120m2 of exhibition area as a united stand. Cutting-edge defense technologies and capabilities of Belarusian defense companies to create integrated computerized troop management systems will be represented as well as solutions designed to counteract drones, Belarusian technologies for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles and components, Belarusian projects for modernizing air defense systems, armored vehicles, and aircraft as well as state-of-the-art products in the area of modern optics and electronically-enhanced optical instruments.

In particular, the Belarusian stand will feature a modernized air defense missile system Osa, the Optima-3.2 station for jamming GPS and GLONASS-based navigation systems, and dummy models of radar stations. The latter include the tridimensional radar station Vostok 3D and the low-altitude target detection radar Rosa-RB. The Belarusian defense products on display will also include the armored transport vehicle Kaiman, portable air defense missile systems Shershen and Ovod, and other defense technologies and products.

The Belarusian company 558 Aircraft Repair Plant intends to arrange an exhibition stand of its own in order to demonstrate dummy models of tactical unmanned aerial vehicles of the Berkut and Kondor families as well as the vertical takeoff and landing drones Shershen.

The Belarusian defense R&D company Peleng will demonstrate its products on a joint stand in association with the partner companies Thales Optronique SAS (France) and Vologda Optical and Mechanical Plant (Russia). The Belarusian company will demonstrate the multichannel target designator Sosna-U, a panoramic sight for the commander of a recon and combat vehicle and other products.

During KADEX 2016 top officials of the State Defense Industries Committee of Belarus and executives of Belarusian defense companies intend to take part in sessions of the Business Council under the aegis of the Interstate Commission on Military and Economic Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the CSTO Coordinating Council for Advertising and Exhibitions.

Members of the Belarusian delegation also intend to hold business meetings with foreign military agencies and representatives of the companies that will take part in the expo.
