Belarusian companies to participate in food industry week in Kyrgyzstan

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The National Marketing Center will help Belarusian companies participate in the Week of Food Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic, which is due in Bishkek on 16-18 April, representatives of the National Marketing Center told BelTA.

Several specialized expos will be held as part of the forum: FoodExpo Kyrgyzstan (food products), FoodTechExpo Kyrgyzstan (food industry equipment), HoReCa Bishkek (equipment, products, and services for catering enterprises), UpackExpo Kyrgyzstan (packaging products), and HalalFoodExpo (halal food industry). The contests The Best Product and The Best Alcohol Beverage will take place as part of FoodExpo Kyrgyzstan 2019.

The international food industry conference FoodForum will be the central event of the business program. Participants of the conference will be able to meet directly with food vendors and representatives of leading retail chains of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the source, Kyrgyzstan imports water, including mineral and carbonated varieties, chocolate and other cocoa-containing products, flour, cereals, confectionery and bakery products, baby food meals, non-alcoholic beverages. These products of Belarusian make can be in demand in Kyrgyzstan.

In 2018 Belarus-Kyrgyzstan trade totaled $130.9 million, with Belarus’ export at $120.3 million and import at $10.6 million. As far as Belarusian foods are concerned, Kyrgyzstan bought sugar and confectionery products, ready or tinned chicken meat products, salt, cattle meat, cheese, chocolate, grape wines, sweet cookies, malt, and other products.
