MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim is going to expand cooperation with Chinese companies. The relevant agreement was reached when a Belneftekhim delegation led by the concern’s Chairman Igor Lyashenko visited China on 20-24 September, the Belneftekhim press service told BelTA.

The visit was arranged by CITIC Construction Company in continuation of previously held negotiations.

The Belneftekhim delegation visited a number of petrochemical industry sites in Zhejiang Province, in particular, the petrochemical industry park Wanhua and a new materials industry park in CITIC’s economic development zone. Representatives of the Belarusian petrochemical industry were also made familiar with oil refineries of Zhenhua Oil Company, one of the largest oil processing companies in China. Members of the Belarusian delegation met with top officials of CITIC Construction Company, the administration of the petrochemical industry park Dasedao, the engineering company Sedin, and SINOPEC Beijing Oil Products Company.

During the visit the protocol of the conference on cooperation between the Belarusian oil refinery Naftan and CITIC Construction Company on building a facility for the Belarusian enterprise was signed.

Another document is supposed to be signed during the state visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to China on 28-30 September. The document will confirm the expansion of cooperation between Belarusian and Chinese companies in petrochemical business, said the press service.
