MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ is working hard to sell mining vehicles and utility vehicles to countries of the Middle East and the Arabian Peninsula, BelTA has learned.

In particular, BelAZ specialists got in touch with representatives of the Qatari company Haffarat Projects to work out an agreement on the joint promotion of BelAZ products in Qatar. The sides are expected to negotiate the carrying capacity of BelAZ trucks, maintenance and repair services during the warranty period and the post-warranty period as well as other matters.

An analysis of the regional market indicates that bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks with the carrying capacity from 30 to 90 tonnes are expected to enjoy the highest demand in the Arab countries. The vehicles will be used not only for mining operations but in road construction as well. The vehicles are adapted to climatic conditions of the region and are expected to demonstrate good performance parameters.

Representatives of the Omani private sector also demonstrate their interest in BelAZ products. Representatives of the business elite of Oman visited the Belarusian company many times. A delegation of the Sultanate of Oman business circles led by the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman visited the Belarusian company in May 2016. In May-September 2016 BelAZ shipped a batch of dump trucks with the carrying capacity of 45 tonnes as well as spare parts for them to the Middle East country of Jordan. The last few vehicles from that batch will enter into service soon.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the BelAZ holding company. BelAZ is the world’s top manufacturer of haul trucks with a large carrying capacity and an extremely large carrying capacity as well as other heavy transport equipment used by the mining industry and the civil engineering industry. The company offers over 500 modifications of haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 30-450 tonnes. BelAZ products are sold to 72 countries across the globe. The main consumers are mining companies located in the Commonwealth of Independent States, primarily Russia and Ukraine. The haul trucks are also exported to non-CIS states. Apart from mining machines and utility vehicles BelAZ makes a large number of popular consumer goods.
