Belarusian automaker MAZ rolls out heavy-duty garbage truck

Belarusian automaker MAZ rolls out heavy-duty garbage truck

MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ has made a garbage truck with an extremely high carrying capacity, BelTA has learned.

The MAZ-590425 boasts better maneuverability and a higher carrying capacity in comparison with similar trucks. It can pick up, compress, and deliver about 8.3 tonnes of garbage to the dump site in one trip. The refuse collection vehicle can pick up trash from containers of any shape or size. Once the trash is inside, it is compressed using high pressure.

The vehicle will be fitted with a driver cab for two or three people. The driver can unload garbage at the dump site without leaving the cab.

The new vehicle is batch-produced by the Mogilevtransmash enterprise, which is part of the holding company BelavtoMAZ.

MAZ representatives told BelTA that interest in the new truck is huge. Utility providers are always keen to save time and money. The new garbage truck can save both: it needs fewer trips and boasts good fuel economy.

On the whole, MAZ has been making refuse collection vehicles for over eight years. In the period the flagship of the Belarusian automotive industry has sold over 500 utility vehicles to Belarusian utility providers. The product choice includes garbage trucks with the cargo carrying volume ranging from 6m3 to 24m3.
