Belarus, Ukraine sign $10m worth of documents at Advisory Council meeting

GOMEL, 25 October (BelTA) – Nine documents worth about $10 million were signed at the meeting of the Belarusian-Ukrainian Business Cooperation Advisory Council on 25 October. The meeting was held as part of the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine in Gomel, BelTA has learned.

A framework contract on credit support of trade was concluded between BNKh Ukraine and Credit Dnepr Bank. The BelCCI offices in Gomel and Vitebsk signed agreements on cooperation with Ukrainian counterparts.

Contracts to supply goods to Ukraine were signed by Mozyrsalt (producer of vacuum-evaporated dietary salt), Baranovichi Cotton Production Amalgamation, and Domanovsky Production and Trade Plant.

Belarusian products are in demand on the Ukrainian market, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennadiy Chyzhykov told the media. “The Made in Belarus brand means high quality. Ukrainian consumers know it," he said.

The issues on agenda of the meeting included the development of a draft agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Belarus to approve the Electronic Certificate of Origin System. The parties also discussed interregional cooperation and the export potential of the regions, prospects for using trading platforms to expand mutual trade between Belarus and Ukraine, business cooperation in various fields.

The Belarus-Ukraine Business Cooperation Advisory Council was established in 2010 with the aim to facilitate the development of cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine in the trade and economic sector, expand contacts between the business community, increase trade between the two countries.
