Belarus, Turkey to cooperate in industrial property protectionMINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian National Center of Intellectual Property and the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (Turkpatent) reached an agreement on cooperation in industrial property protection. The document was signed by Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin and Turkey’s Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Ozlu, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Science and Technology Committee.

According to the agreement, the sides plan to exchange technological information for economic development, carry out joint projects aimed at using industrial property instruments. Belarus and Turkey also want to exchange information on intellectual property laws and intellectual property protection procedures.

The document was signed during the Belarusian-Turkish innovation forum in Minsk. The event was organized by Belarus’ State Science and Technology Committee, Turkey’s Science, Industry and Technology Ministry, the Politekhnik science park of Belarusian National Technical University, and Turkey’s Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges.

Belarus-Turkey agreement on cooperation in science and technology was signed in Minsk on 11 November 2016 (came into force on 8 June 2017).
