Belarus suggests Belarusian Quarter project to Russia’s Vladimir Oblast

MOSCOW, 6 June (BelTA)- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko suggested boosting cooperation in the construction of housing and city social infrastructure in Russia’s Vladimir Oblast as he met with Governor of the Russian region Vladimir Sipyagin on the sidelines of the 23rd St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.

The ambassador suggested considering the construction of a Belarusian quarter in the city of Vladimir, building houses, social and cultural facilities in the major cities of the region. “Belarusian design and construction organizations are willing to participate in the housing construction projects, including those implemented using the principle of integrated development with the construction of social facilities. Belarus is also willing to take part in the construction and repair of public roads. We can supply any necessary road-building machines and utility vehicles made by Amkodor, MAZ and MTZ,” Ambassador Vladimir Semashko said.

The diplomat also called to increase mutual trade, including by means of stepping up industrial cooperation in food industry and machine building, agriculture, construction, transport. He also offered Vladimir Oblast to consider buying modern passenger transport vehicles and electric transport vehicles. “Belarusian meat, dairy and other food companies can supply intermediate goods to meet the needs of the region’s food industry and increase deliveries of ready-made food products to the region’s retail network,” Vladimir Semashko said.

The ambassador said that Belarusian companies are ready to take part in the agricultural programs of Vladimir Oblast, supply modern and reliable farming machinery and equipment, help build and upgrade cattle breeding and dairy farms. Belarusian producers of vehicle components have already been successfully cooperating with leading Russian mechanical engineering companies.
  
Vladimir Semashko and Vladimir Sipyagin agreed to hold a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Vladimir Oblast in Minsk in H2 2019. The ambassador invited industrial companies of the Vladimir Oblast mechanical engineering sector to visit Belarusian producers of vehicle components to share experience and establish business ties, and also building companies of the Russian region to get familiar with the Belarusian best urban development practices.
