Belarus, South Korea to bolster cooperation in IT

MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – Belarus and South Korea will bolster cooperation in information and communication technologies, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei with South Korea’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic Affairs Lee Tae-ho.

The meeting focused on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda. “The sides reaffirmed the interest in the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, stepping up interaction in information and communication technologies, expansion of business contacts between the countries,” the press release of the press service reads.

Lee Tae-ho will take part in the 4th session of the Belarus-South Korea joint committee for economic, scientific, and technical cooperation in Minsk on 25 May. The Belarusian side will be represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. “The sides will discuss topical cooperation issues with an emphasis on the enhancement of trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation,” the press release reads.

Apart from the session of the joint committee and meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the program of the visit of the South Korean delegation includes visits to Belarus’ High-Tech Park, the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone, and OOO Polimaster which produces radiation control equipment.
