Belarus, Serbia sign roadmap for cooperation in 2017-2018

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Belarus and Serbia signed a roadmap for cooperation in 2017-2018. The document was signed by Belarus Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Vladimir Koltovitch and Serbian Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic, BelTA has learned.

The roadmap includes more than 50 events. The two countries shall organize regular meetings of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Serbian commission for trade and economic cooperation, conduct business meetings on cooperation between the chambers of commerce and promote mutual supplies of food products.

Work will be continued with the Serbian government to establish international holding companies based on the automotive enterprises of Belautogaz and Petar Drapsin. The implementation of the project to produce and supply fire engines for the needs of the Serbian side will be continued together with the government and the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Serbia.

The countries will expand cooperation in agriculture, science and implement joint innovative projects with technology (industrial) parks.

Interregional cooperation will be facilitated by the agreements on twinning of Belarusian and Serbian cities (Polotsk and Sremska Mitrovica, Soligorsk and Jagodina, Novopolotsk and Krusevac, Zhlobin and Smederevo).

In the healthcare sector the countries plan to cooperate in oncology, provision of high-technology medical aid to Serbian citizens in Belarus, organize internships of Serbian specialists in Belarus, and consider registration in Serbia of Belarusian medicines as dietary supplements.

Belarus and Serbia will expand cooperation in the use of natural resources, petrochemistry, education, sports and tourism. Representatives of the Serbian travel business will be invited on a promo tour around Belarus as well as to take part in the Minsk tourism exhibition. The two countries intend to establish cooperation between the golf associations. Belarusian children and the youth will be invited to summer basketball camps in Serbia. The countries will exchange experience in training and retraining of specialists for the tourism and hospitality industry.

The parties also signed a package of bilateral documents to boost cooperation in the military, healthcare, sports and tourism sectors, and also interregional interaction.
