MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarus sees great opportunities for economic cooperation with Hungary, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko said in an interview with the Hungarian newspaper Magyar Hirlap, BelTA has learned.

“It is not just as a diplomatic answer. I should say that every area of Belarus-Hungary cooperation is important. We believe that there are, first of all, great opportunities for economic cooperation, which still has a big potential for further development. What makes me optimistic is that both sides are willing to expand cooperation,” Oleg Kravchenko said.

He noted that Belarus and Hungary have already established a wide network of contacts. “We can discuss any questions openly with each other. We are grateful to Hungary for its efforts to improve Belarus-EU relations, for its deep and detailed approach to the bilateral cooperation,” Oleg Kravchenko said.

He stressed that Belarus and Hungary have much in common not only in business or politics but also in culture. “Belarus and Hungary have many things to celebrate. Our relations develop, the Belarusian embassy works very actively. We also see constructive and open approach by Hungarian diplomats to our cooperation. It is also very important that Belarusian students can get a scholarship to study in Hungary, which lets them understand the Hungarian culture and mentality better and then bring this knowledge back to Belarus,” Oleg Kravchenko believes.
