MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – We need to set up Belarusian-Chinese joint ventures in China, Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov said on the sidelines of the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
According to him, Belarus has raw materials that are of interest to Chinese consumers. Therefore, it is important for Belarus to move more actively and closer to direct consumers of its products.
"For this, we need to bolster cooperation, to set up production facilities in China to process Belarusian raw materials: cellulose, fertilizers, milk powder, meat products, woodworking products, and so on. To process it into goods with high added value and give consumers a high-quality product," Aleksandr Chervyakov emphasized.
An agreement to launch such a project was reached during the forum. Manufacture of ice cream will be launched together with the Slutsk enterprise in Liaoning, one of the provinces of China. This is only one of the many agreements, the Economy Ministry noted.
The 6th China International Import Expo in Shanghai will be running until 10 November.
