MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation of 12 leading companies visited Russia’s Vologda Oblast as part of a business mission organized by the Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), BelTA learned from the press service of the BelCCI Minsk Office.

The visit took place following agreements reached during the Vologda Oblast Days held in the Republic of Belarus in August this year. As part of the mission, a roundtable discussion How to present yourself on the global market was held. The event was opened by Acting Minister of Economic Development, Industry and Trade of Vologda Oblast Anna Tseshnatiy and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vologda Oblast Dmitry Telegin.

Representatives of Belarusian companies held more than 30 B2B negotiations with Vologda enterprises and outlined areas of cooperation. Priority sectors include the agro-industrial complex, food and light industry, industrial equipment manufacturing, woodworking, and tourism development.

As part of the business program, the delegation toured key enterprises in the region, including the plants Elcom and NORD in Cherepovets. Belarusian representatives also took part in the regional entrepreneurship forum My Business – My Opportunities.

Belarus is a strategic partner of Vologda Oblast, ranking first in foreign trade with a share of about 20%. The cooperation goal is to increase trade to $1 billion by 2030.

“Following the visit, active work has begun on contracts in the food industry and forestry sector, opening up new prospects for expanding economic cooperation between the parties. At the same time, an agreement on tourism cooperation is being prepared for signing,” the press service noted.
