LIPETSK, 14 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia’s Lipetsk Oblast have outlined a broad scope for cooperation, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik told journalists following the negotiations with Governor of the Russian region Igor Artamonov held in Lipetsk on 14 November, BelTA has learned.
“Lipetsk Oblast is special for us, and the governor is a frequent guest in our country. On his recent visit the governor met with the head of state to determine the priorities for cooperation. Today, my visit is also of a substantive nature. The governor and I agreed to formulate a roadmap and assign a pointman for each area of cooperation,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.
According to him, the negotiations discussed the participation of the Belarusian side in the construction of housing, social facilities, and roads in the region, the supply of passenger and utility vehicles from Belarus. “This is a fairly large, comprehensive scope that includes all issues, from the supply of transport to cultural relations between Lipetsk Oblast and the Republic of Belarus,” he noted.
The ambassador also said that the parties are exploring promising cooperation projects in the field of mechanical engineering between Belarus and Lipetsk Oblast. "We are still in the process of working on this issue," he specified.
Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik added that he is set to tour the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone to explore the topic of industrial cooperation. Furthermore, the ambassador will visit a number of industrial sites in the city of Yelets.
