Belarus, Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Krai discuss joint ventures

MOSCOW, 12 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko is in Russia’s Kranoyarsk Krai on a visit from 12 to 14 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

The delegation includes Deputy Industry Minister Alexander Ogorodnikov, Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Vladimir Grakun, and members of government bodies and affiliated companies.

Vladimir Semashko is scheduled to meet with Acting Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai Alexander Uss, attend a joint session of the working group on Belarus-Krasnoyarsk Krai cooperation, and have bilateral meetings with local executive officials and businessmen.

The Belarusian delegation has visited Avtospetsmash, Belarusian Trading House, Krasnoyarsk BelAZ Service, and other companies and organizations. “Meetings were held with the companies’ top executives to discuss prospects for setting up joint assembly plants and companies, and boosting the exports of Belarusian industrial products,” the embassy said.

In 2017, Belarus-Krasnoyarsk trade reached $72.7 million, up by 15.8% versus 2016. Belarus’ exports totaled $55.3 million (up by 12.4%), imports stood at $17.4 million (up by 28.4%). Trade surplus made up $37.9 million. The major exports were trucks, specific goods, engine panels, tables for electric appliances, tires, malt, components and accessories for automobiles and tractors, and whey. The major imports were specific goods, aluminum wires, turpentine and conifer oils, rosin, resin acids and their derivatives. In January-February 2018, Belarus-Krasnoyarsk Krai trade went up by 25.6%.
