Belarus ready to sell more passenger vehicles to Saint Petersburg

MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to sell more vehicles to Saint Petersburg. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement during the session of the Belarus-Saint Petersburg Business Cooperation Council in Minsk on 7 October, BelTA has learned.

The Prime Minister said: “Belarus is ready to further increase sales of machines, vehicles and equipment in order to completely satisfy the demand of Saint Petersburg. I believe that broad opportunities for cooperation are opening up as vehicles powered by gas engine fuel become more popular in Russia.”

The Belarusian side invited Saint Petersburg representatives to direct their attention towards the latest Belarusian products. The choice includes innovative electricity-powered vehicles for mass transit systems — electric buses and trolleybuses with autonomous traction. One such trolleybus is already being tested in Saint Petersburg.

Andrei Kobyakov told media after the session that Belarus is also ready to sell more utility vehicles and road construction machines to Saint Petersburg.

Apart from that, Belarus can supply Saint Petersburg with modern passenger vehicles taking into account the fact that the city is gearing up for hosting the world football championship in 2018.
