MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Andrei Metelitsa met with Federal Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan Khalid Hussain Magsi on 24 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The parties discussed progress in implementing the agreements reached at the 5th meeting of the joint Belarus-Pakistan commission on cooperation in science and technology. The 5th meeting identified priority areas for joint activities for 2025-2026, including artificial intelligence, medicine, biotechnology, energy, mechanical engineering, and agriculture. Belarus and Pakistan have announced a joint competition for S&T projects for 2025-2027 in these fields.
Khalid Hussain Magsi and Andrei Metelitsa reviewed the implementation of joint science and technology projects, including the plans for carrying them out.
The parties also exchanged views on preparations for the next meeting of the commission, scheduled for 2027.
