MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Aleksandr Yakovchits met with a delegation from Nigeria's Katsina State led by Governor Dikko Umar Radda, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus.
The parties discussed opportunities for trade and economic cooperation and the realization of export potential, including: expanding trade in agricultural and food products, cooperation in crop and livestock farming, and the exchange of innovations. Cooperation in the field of agricultural education and personnel training also generated mutual interest.
“Our companies are ready to offer sustainable partnerships based on quality, reliability, and long-term cooperation. I am confident that our meeting will provide a new impetus for trade and economic cooperation between our countries and allow us to reach a new level of development,” Aleksandr Yakovchits stated.
The Belarusian side is eager to supply the Nigerian market with dry milk, dairy whey, baby food, butter and meat products.
The parties also discussed the mechanization of Nigerian agriculture, including the design and production of equipment for dairy farms, advanced field cultivation technologies, and unique agricultural irrigation systems. The Belarusian side outlined specific areas for future collaboration in the agricultural industry and confirmed plans to hold a meeting with Nigerian business in the near future.
