Belarus mulls over assembly plants in Iran

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Belarus is exploring options to set up equipment assembly plants in Iran, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry following a working meeting between Belarusian First Deputy Industry Minister Andrei Konyushko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei, which focused on prospects for promoting industrial bilateral cooperation.

The parties noted that the current year has been packed with a broad spectrum of bilateral events at all levels, which confirms the active development of the Belarus-Iran partnership. The implementation of the agreements reached by the heads of state received special attention. These agreements are designed to deepen cooperation across various sectors and create new opportunities for joint development.

The discussions explored the possibilities of organizing and operating assembly plants for Belarusian equipment in Iran. Such a cooperation format will not only expand the manufacturing of modern equipment but also strengthen technological interaction and enhance the competitiveness of products on international markets, the press service noted.

The parties expressed confidence that the continuation of an active dialogue and joint work will provide a reliable foundation for further strengthening of trade and economic partnership between Belarus and Iran.
